A practitioner first. Teaching grows from practice.

I am first and foremost a practitioner. The heart of my teaching comes from my own practice and the spiritual journey that has shaped me since 2000.

First and foremost a practitioner

I began my own yoga practice in 2000 and have practised continuously ever since. I am first and foremost a practitioner, and the heart of my teaching comes from my own practice.

Āsana came relatively easily to me, and I quickly gained a good command of the physical practices. But my deeper inner journey has always centred on breathing, prāṇa and meditation.

Kriya Yoga meditation has been part of my practice since 2003. I have lived Haṭha Yoga through the Vinyāsa Krama system. Today, my work is strongly shaped by the teachings of Yoga Sūtra and a physiological understanding of breathing, CO₂ and their effects on body and mind.

Formative periods

Teachers, experiences and methods that have shaped the journey.

2004–2006

First teacher training

My first formal teacher training was with Shiva Rea. Above all, it was an important eye-opening experience and encouraged me to seek a deeper approach.

2008–2010

Viniyoga and Vinyāsa Krama

This was my first real encounter with individualised teaching: how to build a practice around the person and work with Vinyāsa Krama in a deeper, more focused way.

2015–2024

Paul Harvey

Nine years of in-depth study and regular work with Paul Harvey. This developed a systematic approach to personal practice, individual teaching and working with students.

This period became the technical foundation for much of what I do today.

2021–present

Christopher Drake · Learn Buteyko

My studies and relationship with Christopher Drake have been immensely valuable.

Through this, my understanding of breathing physiology, CO₂ and the effects of breathing on the body, nervous system and mind has deepened considerably.

Practice shapes the teaching

The same journey — shared with others.

Kriya Yoga
since 2003

Meditation has been at the heart of my practice for more than two decades and continues to shape attention, stillness and inner exploration.

Haṭha Yoga
through Vinyāsa Krama

Vinyāsa Krama has taught me to build a practice from understanding, not from a template — with movement, breath and attention working together.

Yoga Sūtra

The teachings of Yoga Sūtra strongly influence how I understand attention, the mind, self-knowledge and the purpose of practice.

Individual guidance

One-to-one work is based on seeing the individual, their circumstances and their real goals — and finding a sensible next step.
